SURVEY

A survey is a plan of your property showing the true dimensions and layout of your lot boundaries and will verify the lot dimensions provided for in the agreement of purchase and sale. Ensure the survey is legible, shows the name of the surveyor, the date the survey was prepared, the Lot and Plan number for the property and the measurements of the lot as well as the location of the dwelling house, other structures, fences, sheds, etc. within your lot.  Without a survey, a purchaser cannot accurately determine the dimensions of the lot or the location of the dwelling or structures on the lot in relation to the lot lines.  Surveys should be available for both new or resale home.  When reviewing the survey, keep in mind that the survey reflects the dwelling and structures existing as of the date the survey was prepared.
