A corporation may be incorporated using a number, such as 1234567 Ontario Limited, which will be allotted to you by the Ministry at the time Articles of Incorporation are filed.
Alternatively, you may apply for a specific name for your corporation. However, it is necessary to obtain a current name search to ensure that the proposed corporate name is available and is not similar to an existing corporation name or trade mark. The name of the corporation should accurately describe the nature of the business. All corporations are to be identified as a corporation by adding to the end of its name one of the following: Incorporated, Inc., Limited, Ltd., Corporation, Corp. etc.
